For Kazakhstan, in which more than 130 ethnic groups live, an important task is the preservation and strengthening of inter-ethnic and interfaith dialogue and interaction. The Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan - the APK, which is chaired by the First President of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, has become an effective mechanism for maintaining peace and harmony in our country. Established at the dawn of Independence, the Assembly has become a new unique public and state institution of Kazakhstan, in practice having proved its importance and historical necessity.
Thanks to the policy of tolerance and equality of rights and freedoms of all citizens, the unity of the people of Kazakhstan is strengthened. Today the republic is showing an example of peaceful coexistence of representatives of various ethnic groups and faiths.
Nursultan Nazarbayev constantly pays great attention to the development of cultures, languages and traditions of all ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan. This policy of Elbasy is the foundation of the stability of Kazakhstani society.
The confirmation of the increased authority and importance of the APK is the fact that 9 deputies of the Majilis are now elected from this organization. The Assembly is the result of the unique socio-political innovation of Kazakhstan and an effective tool for the unity of society.
